How my weekend went

Like any other time, this time too I was longing for the weekend pretty badly. Looks like hardly does the week start and I wish it was weekend again. I seem to be living life, one weekend at a time :)

Saturday was beautiful. The weather was warm and lovely...almost like spring time. After ice skating, me and V cruised around with his car's top down. It felt so good. Wish such days would come sooner and more often. In the eve we along with a couple of friends went to Bloomington. The Indiana Univ resides in this town and its a nice small town with all the charms of a college town. We like to go there just to see people. Columbus is so dead as you cannot see a soul on the streets.
Well, on the way to Bloomington, my eyes fell on an Orange VW Beetle at a car dealer. Now, ever since I have seen the Bug, I have wanted to own one. I know for sure that'd be the next car I own. So, we stopped to have a look and I fell in love with it! It was a customized car with black&orange leather seats and orange wheel covers. It looked so cute! Unfortunately, the car was someone else's and not for sale. Not that I would have afforded it anyway :( The dealer showed us another 2005 orange Beetle. This has set my mind at whirl...now I know that that's the color I want. I just hope I can buy one. Since I recently had to spend quite a bit tweaking my Mazda, I had to postpone my plan to buy a car.

In the eve, we had yummy Afgani food at a restaurant called Shamira. Its one of my fav restaurants in the town. If anyone happens to go there, do try the hen kababs there. Nothing like our desi kababs..but still delicious.

After returning we went straight to Walmart. A friend of ours had recently subscribed to Hindijoy.com and he and his wife wanted to watch the movies on TV rather than on the laptop screen. So, the 4 of us spent 2 hrs looking at the various cables and converters to see what fits his TV and budget the most. At his home, we spent another 2 hrs hooking it up. Everything seems to working just half...we could see the screen on the TV and even see the media player, but the video was blank. After lots of googling we realized that his laptop would require a driver. It was already 1.30am and we couldn't try on other machine as the login works only on one machine as they register the IP address. So, the 4 of us ended watching 'Rog' very uncomfortably on the small screen. After an hour of discomfort, I decided to give up and head home.

Sunday too dawned quite warm but gloomy. Our joy regarding the weather was short lived. And now its raining since 2 days giving rise to more potholes. Ughh! Sunday was quite uneventful except that I went shopping again to Kohls. Thats a bad way to entertain oneself when there's nothing else to do. You end up with a hole in your pocket.

KOHLS....I like that so much, it's cute...far better than cheaper TJMax and ROSS. I agree with you Kaush, always end up buying unwanted things from there, spring is here and you can see those bright colors everywhere. And ohhh my dear colors;-)....orange bug coool...please go for new one, don't drive those old cars and spend even more to repair them, seriously buy new one, with good dealer you will not even have to put down anything. Go for new bug girl!!! and come to Virginia in that so that we can have funnnn like old times!!

Yeahh....and one more thing, it's far better to go out shop or just window shop than stay home and eatttttttttt! it's more depressing to stay home and eat than go to stores and get lost in crowd.(I hope this is not that a baddd advice!)

Hey Rash...:) me too feel should get a new one. The Orange color was soooooo cute. Dunno whether I'll have it when I come to Virginia..but we will definitely have fun! Hehe...I agree with you on better shopping than eating funda...I would prefer shopping too. When the clothes u like dont fit, then it'll make u wanna lose weight rather than eat. (but of course such a thought never stays in my mind)

Hey Colors,

Nice to see you back girl. So, how far have you reached in ice-skating classes? When will ya start jumping around and dancing on it?

Beetle car...Can it get anymore girly than that..ha ha...I have seen some chinese dudes ride it too though...It used to be my favourite but the old-beetle. An uncle in Agra used to have it, the 1950s model..it was a classic...

I never had Afgani food (for GOD's sake we hardly have any decent desi resturant in my town...ha ha). Kababs...yummy...Dilli main in Gol market main...Kakee de dhaabe de "Kabab and rumali roti"...Ab main roh padunga...

Hey Colors,

Actually I will blog about it but even I came to know that they changed the damn thing at last minute. My brother told me and then Kaush confirmed it. Sorry, I could'nt inform you in time. I don't wanna disclose much before my blog but it was the worst thing I even saw on Letterman and consider yourself lucky that you did'nt got the chance to see the most-pathetic-interview-ever. She is a Bimbo...I never thought so but oh man...she just made us indians look stupid...

Ricky...hi! I am still struggling with my ice-skating :) Hence u dont see me mentioning much about it ;)
Yes, Beetle is a girly car..specially if u see the orange one. The new models even have a small 'vase' besides the steering wheel to place flowers :)
Well..inspite of how she pulled off, I still feel bad missing the show. I really wanted to see it.

As for the kababs...nothing(not even the ABCD ones) beats the desi ones! yummm..

Hi Deepak...Thanks! Yes, the Bug is a lovely car..though the general notion is that the new beetle is a 'girly' car :) Would you still want one?

Yes, potholes in Amrika...hard to imagine, isnt it? There are a tonnes of them on my way to work...:( I have to keep dodging them! Wat a pain!!

Kaush...thnx for the compliment :) And I agree with shopping being better than eating and eating. But I hate going out alone...so my weekdays are spent lying on the couch watching TV...which is equally as bad as eating 'n eating.

Ricky n Kaush...I to agree with you all on Rashmi starting her own blog. C'mon Rash...public ka demand hai...and you shouldn't deny the public their demands.

Hey guys(Colors,Ricky,Kaush...),
I am flattered with the demand, but let me see I really do not have much of writing skills like my dear colors or Kaush..girl you are one creative brain, I read the poem(gay dogs) and will comment soon. Ricky has already taught me some lesson about not going over board as far as my views are concerned;-)!(just kidding!)But frankly right now I am happy reading the blogs of all you wonderful people, will start my blog in near future till then let me explore this blogging concept more. Yeah and Ricky my man about answering to your comment about Mr.& Mrs Iyer I thought you consider her interaction with this guy(mr.rahul bose) as some phase in life like a long time back there was this Manjarekar movie 'Astitva' with Tabbu, so my question was answered that you do not give up on your bonds(marriage even if it sucks!) for minor(or stronger) interactions like this movie!!!
I hope whatever i wrote make some sense:-0)

Hi Rashmi,

Aap bura maan gayee ho lagta hai. I am really "Sorry" about that episode, I recently read all the comments again and I know we both went over-board in few things. Don't mind please. I really appreciate your views though (belive it or not).

Everything you wrote about the Mr. & Mrs. Iyer makes sense to me. I will repeat again though, her marriage never sucked but yea it was not a very exciting one. I think in life we all make choices. Sometimes we have to choose things considering external factors too. Konkana leaving her husband was the other choice but that would have meant leaving stability of marriage, your child, maybe even your own parents for a guy who may never marry you and maybe leave you at some point too. It's a hard trade-off...don't you think?

There are very rare people in this world who do things just with their instincts and are as free-spirited as the Rahul Bose's character was.

Anyways, take care...and Hey Colors...What's up?
Ricky.

HI Rash & Ricky
Read both ur comments on Mr n Mrs Iyer. I loved that movie and I often ask V "Are you lee-sa-ning?" Thats one of my fav dialogues ;-)
What u say, Ricky, makes sense. The movie never portrays if her marriage was an unhappy one or not. But I am sure, if they had shown it to be unhappy, then she would have left her husband! And Rahul Bose is so cute! Have you seen Chameli?

fursat said...

Hey Colors,

Yea, I loved the way Konkana spoke in that movie. Inspite of the fact that she looked so simple in the movie, I would rate her much better than all the typical-bollywood-actresses when it comes to looks. As they say, beauty is only skin deep (or as Indians will say only fair-skin deep...ha ha...this was sarcastic remark as Indians have fascination with fair skin).

Yea, if it was a unhappy marriage then she "should" have left but since in the whole movie she never said a bad word about her husband, I am assuming that her marriage was not a bad one.

Yea, I have seen Chameli. Do you know Rahul Bose is the memeber of Indian Rugby team and he was the first one to set up tsunami relief camp (without publizing it) and is one of the most geniune person.

Hey Color and Ricky,
I was not saying about the movies character when I said even if the marriage sucks.....hmmm...I was totally generalising the situation, ....my point was tht you don't just give up some bonds lke marriage for fling like tht...you guysssss!!but anyways, Ricky you do not have to say sorry and all tht stuff dude, it happened and it's over and I am not mad...remember I winked;-)...like this:-0)

Hi Rashmi,

Ok Ok, I get your point now, but did'nt I state the same point as you too...lol. Oh, I could not read your wink...ha ha. Ok take care.
