Good of you to update on the previous post, haven't watched the video yet or read the article but I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to GEICO...lol
There has always been a struggle between development and local people. Somehow, we seem to be hearing only one side of story. Is it possible that some people in Sikkim wants to see development? Otherwise, why would a democratic government work on an unpopular project. I am sure this project has lead to job creations and maybe in future may help in further development of the area. When the Britishers were building railway line, then also people were complaining but am sure now Sikkim feels connected because of that.
In your last video, you showed that Sikkim Govt. is very responsible and encourages self-employment unlike some other NE states, so the Govt. there is not bad afterall.
I am just trying to look this story from a different angle, even though I myself wouldn't want to see the virgin areas of India like Sikkim lose their ecology.
I really like the updated video you have put up. The guy has taken some amazing shots of construction that is going on in the heart of the earth. It was surreal to see those people working so deep inside.
I hope there is some resolution to this issue which is accepted to both parties. Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea since Sikkim is a small state to do referendum on such matters like they do in Canada. I am not sure if its feasible to do there but will certainly reflect everyone's point of view on such matters.

BTW, what is your thoughts about the project? Do you think protesters are justified in their stand against the development?
