The Quest

Anyone who has read Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown has been enthralled and captivated by the endless mind-games involved in the quest of the Da Vinci Code.

I am now eagerly awaiting the release of the movie which incidentally falls on my birthday. What more can I ask as a birthday gift?? Well, actually, I can ask for a lot more, but that's out of the context here :P

Anyway, as a promotion for the movie, Google and Sony Pictures have come up with this awesome idea. They have created a series of mind games for DVC enthusiast like us to participate. The games are to be solved one a day for 24 days. The final winner will win a hoard of prizes. I have already participated and solved the games and they are fascinating to say the least! As you try solve the puzzles, you will (not necessarily) need to go to the movie's official website. As you browse, you will understand how amazingly they have put up the site. Each and every part of the site hides some secret...it is truly remarkable.

I seriously urge all you DVC fans to participate in the games, if you haven't done so yet! For those who haven't read the book yet, please do so before you watch the movie...though by looking at the website and the promotional videos, I believe the movie will do full justice to the book.

Awesome Post Colors!!

Today only I read about it. I need to read Da Vinci Code again. This time I will read the version where they have 200 pictures in the novel. Its called the Illustrated Version

So, its releasing on your Birthday...hmm... what day will that be? I forgot na...he he. So, you don't want any gift from me...phew. Thank God!!

I know you are a Google enthusiast and only they could have come up with something like this. I will start solving these soon and visit the website too. Thanks for giving all the links.

I am so waiting for the movie as it has my favourite actor of all times, Tom Hanks. Although, the character that he plays in the novel was very wooden, I am sure Tom will add a new dimension to him.

I don't know anything about DVC...but very eager for the movie...only because of Tom Hanks...

:)

about the games...would it make sense even if not read the book?

Haha..yeah Google Rocks...what more to say? Do play the games...u'll have fun, i am sure!
Oh yes, forgot to mention in the post that two of my fav actors are in it...Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou! Have you seen Amelie??

Hi Anchal...ok, then u can then tell me ur views on the movie once you have seen it...to get a diff perspective, maybe?
As for the games...yeah maybe u wont make out much without reading the book! They are totally based on the story

OMG!! Is that Amelie girl with big eyes playing the role?? She is my favourite. I actually imagined her when I was reading he novel as I saw Amelie around that time.

Amelie is one of my all time favourite movies. It was so smart, so different, so touching, so intelligent movie...

I am so looking forward to this movie. I should book first day first show for this one...

Oh yeah, me waiting for the movie too, but I think Tom Hanks is a little less dashing to play Langdon.... what do you think?

fursat said...

@ Anks - I don't think so coz Langdon was a very wooden character if you look at his characterisation, so Tom will add a new dimension to the character. He will make the character better if anything coz you can't make it worse...

Hey Ricky, yep its the same girl. Yeah I loved 'Amelie'. Do watch "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not' also..thats also good.

RS, blushing Thanks! Cool! U own the illustrated copy! Hey did you try out the games?

Hi Anks, Well to some extent, I agree Tom Hanks is not as 'cool'as Robert Langdon..but he is a great actor! I am sure he will be a good Robert Langdon

Hey Preeti, did you like the games? what do you think..its kinda bit boring now isnt it? Thought they'd come up with better in the 2nd round....lets see, maybe something good is awaiting!

Hello Aqua, gr8 to know even you loved the book! Awesome! Yeah...Tom Hanks is good..and so is Audrey Tautou :)
