This morning, as I was browsing through the Internet, trying to get into my regular grind, back from a great 4 day vacation, I was pleasantly surprised to come across this piece of news:
A local Sikkim girl Geetanjali Thapa has been casted opposite Ranvir Shorey for an upcoming movie "Tina ki Chaabi".

As I did more research on her, I found that she was the same girl who had acted in Myth which is the first English movie made in Sikkim by the local talent. The movie itself had won rave reviews. She was also crowned the Mega Miss North East in 2007.
Way to go Geetanjali! You make us all proud!!

Wow! Really a Good News that another Nepali Gal is going to Rock in Bollywood.
She lookssoooooooooooo pretty and also reading article about her she sounds very promising..... Hope she will keep continue the glory of Nepalese Actors through her talent (acting) and beauty as Manisha did.

Yep Ankur, she is indeed. I hope she does well in the movie scene.
Ricky, she does look very much from Sikkim as from any part of NE/Nepal :P Its just that many have this image stuck in their head about how people from Sikkim look like. Remember Sikkim is a state, so you will find people with various features there (just look at me :P People think I look Punjabi!!)
I too have been interested in watching Myth, but haven't got a chance yet. Another interesting thing abt the movie is that its just 24 mins long.

In my family itself, we have such varied features :)
I know Sikkim is a state but its a very small state so am assuming that variations in features may not be too much. Although, it may have Nepalese and Bhutanese influence. You don't look Punjabi but you don't look Sikkimese either :P
Thats exactly my point...I don't look "Sikkimese" but I am one, ain't I? :)
As the photographer of this particular picture, I can vouch for her "drop-dead-gorgeous" looks. The camera loves her. And her face is neither 'Sikkimese' nor 'Punjabi' ; but what we call in fashion circles, an 'international' face - which can be styled to look anything.
