2nd of February which is the Christian holiday of Candlemas, is also popularly known as the Groundhog Day. It is believed that today when a groundhog emerges from its burrow, if it sees its shadow, then winter is going to be long and will continue for 6 more weeks. On the other hand, if it does not see its shadow, the winter will be short and spring is around the corner.
This year's star groundhog is a furry big little thing called Punxsutawney
So, as per our tiny little weatherman, I still have chance to wear some of the jackets that have remained untouched this entire winter!

oh! Long winters can be pretty depressing! I believe London was snowed in day before. One Snow storm and NY/NJ too can turn into white mountain!
Take care, keep warm!
Hey Moonie, seeing you here after a long time!
Yeah London's having a tough time dealing with the snow. The NE side of US did have more than one snow...the last couple of snowfall has made the landscape beautiful!
Next week has been forecasted with warmer weather...looks like the weatherhog will be proven wrong!*fingers crossed*
Yea, I saw this on BBC. Can you ask your groundhog when will the winter end here? We had fresh snow today :|
