Different Colors

Came across these two sites recently and thought of sharing with you all:

Radio Free Nepal
The site's intro says it all:
King Gyandendra of Nepal has issued a ban on independent news broadcasts and has threatened to punish newspapers for reports that run counter to the official monarchist line. Given that any person in Nepal publishing reports critical of "the spirit of the royal proclamation" is subject to punishment and/or imprisonment, contributors to this blog will publish their reports from Nepal anonymously.

Pushkar
This is a
travel
diary of Pushkar Shah of Nepal. Pushkar's mission is to fulfil his dream of travelling worldwide for 11 years on his bicycle to spread the message of World Peace. His journey began on November, 1998, and now seven years later, he has toured a staggering total of about 1,60,000 kilometers across 70 countries in Asia, Asia-Pacific, North America and South America and Africa.

Hi Mehul,
Do read them and let me know what u think.
Yes, blogs does give one freedom and anonimity like nothing else. However, they are worried that sooner or later their site might get blocked too!
Travelling worlwide on a bicycle does sound like loads of hard work and almost impossible! His efforts are commendable!

Hi Colors,

Interesting sites. But to be fair, the situation here is pretty good, i m staying here and facing no problems or issues... and though i m the biggest proponent of democracy, if sth good comes out of this so be it . I guess it just needs to be marketed well to the world leaders (a la our other neighbor)

Finally, it seems the blogger comments are working :)

Hi Deepak,
Well, the blog is from a reporter's view point and I guess the press is being suppressed there. Maybe the site is giving a more depressing outlook of the situation than how it might really be. Like you said, as long as something good comes out of this..

Nupur...yes it is brave of both the guys :) the anon reporter and the world traveller.
