Well, so I did see Kisna and whats my verdict? HUGE disappointment. Well, I know...I had read the bad reviews, but still I was hoping against hope that the movie would turn out to be good. We arrived at the theatre 1/2hr late to realize we missed just 5 mins of the movie. As always, the movie had started late. We were greeted with a half empty theatre.
Soon we were greeted with unrealistic graphics, awesome acrobatics, lengthy songs and unnecessary skin show. The new girl, Isha makes difficult dance positions like nothing I had ever seen before. But then if they keep showing her in some weird position every time they show her, it tends to become tiresome and boring. Then there was this repeatedly shown scene of the river bank with very unrealistic looking clear blue water. Everything in the movie sounded extremely made up. By intermission, my head had started aching. Had yummy samosas and tea which lifted up our spirits. Sushmita Sen and Om Puri were a welcome change in the movie. Just in front of us, there were a bunch of guys we knew. Along with them, we had a good time passing comments, clapping and laughing. I had an Anacin before going off to sleep that night.
The next day I woke up with a heavy head. My apartment lease is ending on Feb and I want to shift to a bigger apartment. So, Sat morning was spent on apartment hunting. After spending so much of time I decided on an apartment in the same complex I am currently at. Coz of this, I had to give my ice-skating classes a miss. Me and V then went to Columbus and on the way stopped at the Indian store in Greenwood to get some Hindi movies. All this time my head was still aching.
On reaching Columbus, we met a few friends at a mall and I did some shopping. I realized that its been a month since I bought anything for myself and I'm 'running short of' clothes again :D
We had also got some samosas from the restaurant at Greenwood and we enjoyed it while watching 'God Only Knows' in the eve. Had got the movie on a friend's recommendation that its a hilarious movie. The movie was quite interesting in the beginning, but then it started becoming so stretchy and irritating. This time I took 'Nise' and by late night my headache was gone.
Got up late on Sunday and after lunch we all sat down to see 'Choker Bali'. Finally I got to see some decent movie. Liked the movie a lot though didn't understand why she did all that she did!
So another weekend came to an end too soon. I was up this early morning ready for an hour long drive back to Indy, back to work and back to week long loneliness!

Who is V ?
Hello Mr/Ms Anonymous!
'V' is my darling, my sweetheart, the love of my life!
Hey..
so another one to curse Kisna..
i am so happy that i missed the movie..No plans to watch this one now..Instead i wud watch Kisna for third time!!
One of my blog friend Priyangini also had similar experience of Headache after watching the movie!!
Guess Subhash Ghai has a pact with Anacin and disprin wallas!!
Hey Colors,
You guys/gals are so great. Guess why? Because you took off my headache, since now after all these reviews I won't bother wasting my $3 on the DVD of Kisna (We don't have any hindi theatre here na). Subhash Ghai has gone wrong since he made Pardes. Pardes and Taal were just about "passable" and don't even talk to me about Yaadein. (You should'nt have mentioned about Isha, it almost may drag me to watch it...ha ha...kidding).
You also made me cry by mentioning samosas and when I just recovered you again...lol.
Did you saw this movie "http://movies.bizhat.com/review_god_only_knows.php". Coz if you did then I salute you...phew...
Choker bali looks good. Take care of yourself...

Gaurav...you would watch Kisna for the 3rd time?? Yea, I read Priyangini's account of it too...we both seem to have had very similar experience!
Ricky,
We too dont have a dedicated theatre for Hindi movies, but the Indian Asso. gets them about twice a month. The next one is 'Shabd' on 12th Feb. They are even getting Pankaj Udhas on the long weekend of March.
Yes...thats the same God Only Knows that I watched :D :D
I know..I know what you must be thinking. But I have had watched worse movies. Can you imagine I once saw 'Baaz' and then the very next day 'Excape from Taliban' in the theatre?! I dont think anyone can go lower than this! LOL.
Hey Mehul...really good you didnt see the movie. I know..weekends are way too short...every time I feel that we ought to have an additional Sunday :) Isnt that a nice thought?
Hey Colors,
It has been almost 4 years since I saw a hindi movie in theatre. Good for you. "Shabd" looks good and different to me but who knows about desi movies, sometimes they promote well than they make. Wow, Pankaj Udhas- that's awesome. His "Chandi Jaisa rang hai tera..." is a classic. I have not heard of Baaz and Escape from Taliban had Manisha I guess but never had the good fortune of watching it (I am being sarcastic).
My worst movie exp. in theatre back in India will be watching "Hum Saath Saath hain" twice in 2 days since one friend missed it and dragged me...phew...
Ricky...

Ricky..am not a great gazal fan, but Pankaj Udhas would be nice. But its on a long weekend so dunno if i'd be in the city at that time.
'Hum Saath Saath Hain'..not a bad movie, but yes watching it twice consecutively would be a pain. You seem to have had good fortune when it comes to 'worse movie experience' HSSH is way down in my list of bad movies.
BTW, I am yet to see Hellboy..I think I'll see it today.
Hey Colors,
I am more of a Jagjit Singh fan. He is awesome. I hope you enjoy "HellBoy" or your money back (not really..ha ha).
Have Fun
Ricky

Hey colorful!
I did not watch any new hindi movie after Veer zara till yesterday and this week end I watched ROG and ROK SAKO TO ROK LO.....I think I will not watch any new hindi movies in near future! by the way I watched tht damn god only knows half, what a torture! I made samosa myself this weekend and gained 2 pounds(damn it!!)....Hey by the way I watched million dollar baby too this weekend, you can give it a miss if you want, great movie but typical Clint Eastwood stuff, doesnt want to show happy ending ever! yeah weekend ends and I feel pathetic.....pak gayee hu yaar!
Rashmi
Hi Rash..hehe..u saw GOK? I can imagine ur reaction :) I wanted to see ROG but couldn't get the video. As for Million Dollar Baby...dont like that kinda movie so am gonna give it a miss.
Hey..u made samosas? Cool..I think we should get back to being roomies. I can see I'd have lotsa advantages :D
Hey Colors (interesting choice of name by the way...very colorful...sorry bad joke),
Linkin park...Boooooooooooooo...ha ha...
Yea, watch it for free, even I watched it for free. It will be worth every penny...;). Did I tell you I have a knack for bad jokes now and then.
Wow, I loved your pictures. Did you visit all these places? And I can exchange my right hand (on second thoughts left would be better choice)to goto a F1...:'(...I am an Automobile freak...Were were you in the picture by the way?
Ricky
http://seventeentomatoes.rediffblogs.com
Hey Rashmi,
I can do with a receipe of samosa...it has been years since I had one...:(
Ricky.
http://seventeentomatoes.rediffblogs.com
Ricky...yes have been to those places and the pics are either clicked by me or by frens. Neither me nor my friends are in any of the pics. Have been to the F1 race twice.. in 2003 and 2004. Thats one experience you gotto have! Its awesome...just the noise of the cars will make you feel u've got your money's worth. Will be there this year too. Though, seeing today's news I'm confused whom to cheer...Schumy or our own Karthikeyan!
BTW, just started Hellboy.
Colors...
Wow you are quite a traveller. By the way, if you read my previous blog then you will see that I love travelling too a lot. Infact I have lived in Shillong, so we have something in common. And, my dad's first posting was in Sikkim though he was not married yet.
You are the the lucky one to have been to F1 and going again. I envy you but am happy for you too at the same time. You can cheer for Schumy but cheer for our Karthy too when Schumy is not looking...lol.
Enjoy hellboy, though as you can read in my review it's a decent movie but not anything extraordinary.
Ricky.

@ Colors.
Oops ..that was a typo error..The line shud be read as "Instead i wud watch Swades for the third time!"
I hope its vlear now..
;-)
Hey Colors,
Yea, Hellboy was just passable. I mean it was good for a free-watch...ha ha. That's a good point (about disfigured bad monsters) you raised by the way. I will have to do some useless-research on it..ha ha.
The part I loved about the movie was that Hellboy used to shave his horns just to fit in...so funny....and the way that skeleton spoke was very interesting...lol..
Ricky
http://seventeentomatoes.rediffblogs.com/
Ricky...u know I was actually thinking of asking you to google a bit and write about that :)
Yea, the skeleton ended up being my fav character in the movie!
Hey Colors,
Yea, like I have nothing better to do..ha ha....I will rather research on the fact that "Whether skeleton is gay or not?"...What do you say??...ha ha...

Hey Kaush,
Uda lo bachee ka mazak. I am in such a small and white city ke hindi picture kee DVD mil jaate hai bahut hai. Also, I meant 3 Cdn dollars..;)..ha ha...Anyways, just a trivia for you: In Vancouver you can unlimited movies for $10 per month...
Ricky
http://seventeentomatoes.rediffblogs.com/
Hey Colors,
Can you beleive what I just did? There is a site called answerbag.com. I went into that site, registered, went to the monster section and asked the question (Why are all bad monsters disfigured while all good monsters resemble human beings?). So, I will tell you when some "geek" replies. They will inform me by email...ha ha
Ricky--the siliest one
http://seventeentomatoes.rediffblogs.com/
Kaush....I swear, you can never trust the promos that they make for these movies. They lift ur expectations so high up..and when you watch the movie, it comes crashing down..that too with a headache! LOL!
BTW, which city are you at? Also, do you know of www.hindijoy.com? Here, you can watch movies and serials thru internet.
Ricky...LOL...that is indeed very funny. Do keep me posted on the outcome!
Hey Colors,
Thank You for the link and I am suspecting it was for me rather than Kaush (ok ok for both of us). I will check it out laterz. I should goto Indian store this weekend and grab some movie. It's actually way on the other corner from where I live and work. There is one more store on my way but I had a big fight last time. Firstly she rents movies for 5 bucks and then she gave me a DVD for Veer-Zaraa pirated in which 1 hour was missing. I gave her all the "shit" I could (excuse my language). Me and my daily-sobs...lol

Hi,So enjoyed samosas and endured 'Kisna'.Do U still have problem sleeping? try this. Close and open Ur eyes once, then repeat twice, then thrice. By the time you are blinking the tenth row i.e one two three...u will be asleep:) http://vidhur.rediffblogs.com
Hey Vidhur...welcome to my blog :)
Yes, am still facing problems sleeping..and i have so tried many things that I might as well try your method too! What if I am still not asleep by the time I reach 10?? Gosh! That'll be a lot of counting to do!
Just go and watch Page 3.It's mindblowing. It's a reality check.
..and birliantly made.
Hi, one more bad review for Kisna... after Priyangini's lambast I thought no one can shred it apart further, but u hv done the impossible...but rest assured, I will definitely watch the film...kya karen, list jo poori karni hoti hai hai ;)
Anyways, do see PAGE 3, its really a nice movie. And as regards Chokher Bali, just found it okayish, though I do agree with you about why she does what she does...I can never relate to that ending also...
As regards, Rog and Rok Sako Toh Rok Lo...ahem, I saw both during this one - week - no - internet break...no, i am too tired to write on RSTRL ... its exactly as what Ashish had written - funny without the intent...
Baaki toh aisa hai, ke I can watch anything...after watching AK47, Hatya-The Murder, Woh Tera Naam Tha, Hottest Mail.Com, Tauba Tauba and Power of Woman-Tezaab, mera haazma bahut bahut mazboot hai :):):)
Lucky and DJ,
Thanks. I will definitely watch Page3. Just waiting for the movie to be available here.
