I took off after work with my mind set on cleaning up my apartment. But as soon as I saw the TV and the remote, laziness overcame all my good intentions. And since nothing good was going on the TV, I ended up opening my laptop.
Sigh! I have lots of chores to complete today. Put away the load of clothes I had carelessly thrown over the week, do the laundry and vacuum the carpet. But the worst of all..to wash the huge pile of dirty dishes in the sink. :(
I am normally not like this, I don't let things pile up like this. At least not to this extent. I so want to postpone it for another day, but I have to do it today. Coz tomorrow all my friends would be coming over to my apartment. We'll get 'take-away' food from the Pakistani store and after dinner go to IMAX theatre to watch 'Kisna'. As always I'm looking forward to the whole 'watch Hindi movie in a theatre just like in India' experience. I hope the movie is not too bad inspite of the reviews.
Well, I better get to work...no use being lazy. In the end it'll be me who has to do this.

Hey Babe,
Had great fun chatting through emails today, by the way I know ex-roommate how neat and tidy u used to be.....remember once in two weeks cleaning up whole mess, I have started reading your blog and of some of the people who put comments here, really first time having lot of time to kill and it's great fun to read what others think, learning a lot!! I had to create an ID to put comment here, and as usual I couldn't help creating it something like this. Hey and about insomnia why not work out for sometime in gym, the physical work out might make you really tired and put you to bed early. worked for me, so try it if possible
Rashmi
Hey Rash..of course you would make such an id. Waise, I have alllowed anonymous comments too. It was fun catching up on each others lives. Hope we get to do it often. As for physical work...:D u know how I am!
Yes, it is quite a learning experiencing, reading blogs of people. Me too started with reading lots of them and then I ended up making one of my own. You should try too u know...I would love reading you :)
Even i have a loads of clothes to wash..
and me too cannot postpone it for tomorrow..as each and every pair is dirty by now!!
Every one of us, desis seem to have the same story...Laundry, dishes, vaccuming, grocery-shopping...sigh...Good luck doing those, actually it looks quite a work at first but you feel really nice after it's complete...Kisna at IMAX sounds fun...eh...We don't get any hindi movie in my city...
:(...Have fun watching it (hindi movies can either be fun or if it's bad then u can laugh at it with friends to make it fun...haha)
Guess what...I managed to do just the dishes and cook dinner :(
I guess in India you are used to the bai doing these stuffs. Thats why we feel all the more here. However, since I had never appointed any bai, I feel these chores are much easier here, specially the laundry.
Whatever it is, work is always better in small quantities.
As for the movies, yes watching a hindi movie is always more fun than an english one. You can make fun of it with friends and since the rest of the people in the theatre would be desis, they wouldnt mind the noise either and instead join in the laughter! Not to forget the samosas and chai in the interval. Last time they had samosas and tea...hope they do it this time too.
Hi Colors,
My dad was in the army back in India so we had servants for everything. There was one guy just to polish my dad's shoes...what????????? So, when I first moved out, I had never even pressed my clothes but I learnt it the hard way...ha ha...

I remember a very funny movie incident back in India. I was visiting Jhansi with some friends, so we were like 2 gals and 2 guys. "Hum aapke hain kaun" released just then and so we all decided to watch it there only (actually the gals started shoutng in the market that they wanna watch it right there and then...ha ha).
So, here we were watching this movie and all that jazz. Now, one of the gal was wearing a sweater on top of a shirt and the other had just a sweater as it was a bit chilly. If you remember in the movie there is one serious scene where Bindu's hubby slaps her. Just before that scene one of the gal that was wearing a sweater on top of shirt took off her sweater, so I whispered to the other gal that "Now, you don't do the same otherwise everyone will be watching you" and we started laughing like crazy. And I think since we were trying to hide it people thought we were all crying. It was so funny.
Sorry took a lot of your space...:))
